This policy covers the Go Red Robot group website at goredrobot.com only. Our division websites, Go Red Robot Hosting and Go Red Robot Design, have their own privacy policies, which apply when you use those sites or buy services from them.

What we collect and why

When you use the contact form

We collect your name, email address, business name (if you give it), which part of Go Red Robot your enquiry is about, your message, and whether you ticked the marketing box.

• We use these details to read and reply to your enquiry, and to pass it to the right person in our team. This is in our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us, or to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
• We send you marketing emails only if you tick the optional marketing box. You can withdraw that consent at any time by replying to any email from us or by emailing us, and every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe.

Your enquiry is delivered by email to our team. We do not sell your information or share it with anyone outside Go Red Robot, except where the law requires it.

When you visit the website

Like every website, our web server records technical information about each request, including your IP address, the page requested, the time and your browser type. We use this to keep the website working and secure, which is in our legitimate interest. To prevent spam, the contact form also keeps a short-lived, one-way scrambled version of your IP address so it can limit how many messages are sent in an hour.

Cookies

• gr_form (essential): set only on the contact page, to protect the form against forged submissions. It is deleted when you close your browser.

We do not use analytics or advertising cookies on this website. Cookie Settings in the footer shows this at any time.

Where your information is kept

This website runs on servers we manage ourselves in the European Union, and enquiries are delivered to our own email system. Our team works in the United Kingdom and South Africa, so your enquiry may be read from either country.

How long we keep it

If your enquiry does not lead to you becoming a customer, we keep it for 12 months. If you become a customer of one of our divisions, that division's privacy policy applies from then on. We keep marketing consent until you withdraw it, and web server records for up to 12 months.

Your rights

Depending on where you are, the UK GDPR or South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) gives you the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. To use any of these rights, email privacy@goredrobot.com.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK (ico.org.uk) or the Information Regulator in South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
